Dined on a Friday night and the ambiance was beautiful. Very laid back but very nice restaurant. I tried the chargrilled oysters and they were just ok compared to other restaurants in the city. I also got the shrimp and grits as my entree. Now those were delicious! And I topped it off with a French 75! Delicious! Our server was cool and very attentive. I'll definitely be back again.

This place is my go-to! Whenever I'm stuck trying to pick where to eat, Superior Seafood & Oyster Bar always wins. Let's start with the Violet 75--it's a lovely twist on a classic, and I order it every time. When it comes to food, you really can't go wrong, but I never skip the chargrilled oysters--they're an absolute must. The gumbo is some of the best I've had in New Orleans, and the beet salad? So delicious. Service can be a bit slow at times, but the staff is always super friendly. Honestly, I just keep coming back for more!

We had an amazing time this Friday 8/30. Our waitress was phenomenal and she took really good care of us. We started with raw oyster and then char grilled oysters, both were amazing ! We also ordered the crawfish beignets, amazing! For dinner, I ordered the scallops, omg! Exquisite! My husband had the andouille shrimp brochette, he was very pleased.

Good fresh food The redfish is always a delicious meal Can get busy Service is good but they are always so busy

This has been one of my favorite spots in Uptown since attending college in NOLA. Used to bring all my guests, and now I go whenever I'm back. Favs: oysters (raw and charbroiled), happy hour frozen drinks (French 75 and pomegranate mojito are classics, but the espresso martini is a great addition), and the catfish.

This is my go to restaurant when I host visitors from out of town. It's a nice restaurant. I'm a big fan of their happy hour because their happy hour menu includes raw oysters along with discounted beers and cocktails. I recommend their frozen French 75. I really enjoy the crawfish cornbread and the Tchop chicken entree. The service is always on point, and the quality of their food is always consistent.

Rebecca and Nick is our servers (and they are fantastic ! The whole team is like husband and wife They work so well together. And if you haven't been here you better come! Well when we walked in we found out that it was reservation only but we were able to find a seat at the bar. They have a fantastic daily specials for happy hour food or drink. THIS IS A MUST make a reservation if you don't want to sit in the bar. Check it out you won't be disappointed. Ambiance is excellent for the setting.

Superior Seafood is a perfect choice if you're looking for seafood, especially oysters, while uptown. Superior hasn't been on the corner of Napoleon and St. Charles for ages, but it sure looks and feels like it. The interior is full of rich wood tones, exposed brick, and that charming New Orleans tile work that defines so many other classic eateries about town. The dining room offers both intimate booths and table seating, plus bar top for those wanting to watch the drink slinging action or whatever sports are playing on the tv. One wall of the dining area looks out onto St. Charles and frames the streetcars passing by their windows perfectly. (also great for carnival season!) Service was exceptional. Our server checked on us often, and was helpful in guiding us through the menu questions. We wanted to take our time, and she offered to pace out the meal as we went, so we weren't getting our entrees while still snacking on our appetizers. We had a problem with one entree being sent out cold, and she immediately turned it back to the kitchen for a refire. Zero complaints. The food was great. We went big on oysters. We had 2 dozen raw and the oyster superior plate that offers 2 Bienville, 2 Char-grilled, and 2 Rockefeller. The raw oysters came out ice cold with cocktail and grated horse radish and the sample plate was a great way to touch a little bit of everything. Entrees were the scallops and the Andouille sausage stuffed jumbo shrimp wrapped in bacon. Both came with a starter salad. The scallops were served cold but like I mentioned, our waitress fixed the issue lickity split. Everything was delicious. Sometimes consistent places trump the new and notables, and Superior Seafood certainly deserves to be on your trusted rotation list.

Delicious seafood ! I sat at he bar and enjoyed my meal. Noisy and fun environment. I would highly recommend stopping in for the Oysters!.

I typically come here during the carnival season as it's reasonably located on the route and it's fairly easily accessible. It's nice that the street car ends not far from there (during MG), and right in front during the rest of the year, so you don't have to worry about finding parking, although there is usually some kind of street parking within walking distance most of the year. Inside, it looks like a more old-fashioned surf and turf style restaurant - heavy wooden fixtures and tall booths to afford you some privacy, although they do cram the tables in, so when it gets crowded, it's hard to navigate to the restrooms. The service is always top-notch, although, like most places in New Orleans, I feel as though they are running a bit short-staffed and so things take the more leisurely paced atmosphere of most Southern restaurants. I often go for the smaller foods - oysters, crawfish mac n cheese, appetizers, etc, but I have also gone for the filet and bigger items on special occasions. I've never walked out of there feeling hungry or dissatisfied with a meal. The plating may leave a little to be desired, but when the steak melts in your mouth, who cares what it looked like before that first glorious taste?!
